About the Emergency Homecare service

My Family Care's Emergency Homecare service (www.emergencyhomecare.co.uk) offers a solution for when you experience a breakdown of your regular care.

We can help you find back up dependent & eldercare

My Family Care is the only organisation in the UK that provides the solution to all of your back up care needs. For your adult dependent and eldercare requirements you can book the most appropriate solution for you on a short term, flexible or emergency basis.

Facilitated by well established Care Agencies

Emergency Homecare offers domiciliary homecare services for elders and adult dependents (over 18), and is facilitated by well established Care Agencies. Whatever the care need your loved one has and whoever provides it normally (you, a friend, a relation or a formal carer), Emergency Homecare will provide a qualified and sensitive carer when your normal arrangements have let you down. We are here to assist and support your loved ones with their daily lives.

Book with 30 minutes - 2 hours' notice *

The notice period you will need to give us (and the minimum hours you can book for) is only decided after consultation with your local care agency. We recommend calling the team here, or registering asap. Typically the minimum booking time is 4 hours.

Registration costs £25 and the Home Assessment is £50 (excluding VAT). We pride ourselves on always being on hand to answer any questions or concerns you may have regarding our service. We will spend the time to understand your needs.

NB. We work with many companies that subsidise their employees' care costs. Ask your employer for more information.

Our associated Homecare agencies provide quality services to those who need a little extra help in order to retain their independence in their own home:

  • All care agencies we use are registered with the Commission for Social Care Inspection (and equivalent bodies in Scotland and Wales) with a rating of "good" or "excellent". On request, My Family Care can provide you with a copy of the agency inspection report in advance

  • All care workers will be CRB checked and hold a POVA (Protection of Vulnerable Adults check)

  • All care workers are interviewed and have at least two written references. They also must have attended a 3-day training and induction course before they are permitted to provide care

  • All care workers will either hold, or be working towards, the relevant NVQ (either level 2 or 3).
